Intake and support

The Orange Door

The Orange Door is a free service for people who are experiencing family violence, people who are using family violence and want support to change their behaviour, and families who need support with the care and wellbeing of children and young people.

You can contact The Orange Door by phone, email or in person. You do not need a referral or an appointment.

Open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (closed public holidays).

A safe and welcoming place to start

The Orange Door helps people to understand and identify family violence and child wellbeing concerns, and connects them with the right support.

The service is designed to be safe, inclusive and easier to access, so people know where to go for support and assistance.

Please contact us if

  • someone close to you is hurting you, controlling you, or making you feel afraid
  • you are a child or young person who does not have what you need to be okay
  • you are worried about the safety of a friend or family member
  • you need more support with the care and wellbeing of children because of money issues, illness, addiction, grief, isolation or conflict
  • you are worried about the safety or wellbeing of a child or young person
  • you need help to change your behaviour and stop using violence in your relationships

We can help with immediate safety concerns, planning for safety, and support for children and young people.

We connect people with family violence, child and family, Aboriginal, wellbeing and behaviour change supports.

Let The Orange Door know if you have accessibility requirements, use communication aids, or need an interpreter, including Auslan.
