Gateway Health launches Pathway to Good Health program in Ovens Murray
Gateway Health has officially commenced the Pathway to Good Health (PTGH) program in the Ovens Murray region, supported by the Victorian Government’s $37.8 million statewide investment to improve health outcomes for children and young people in out-of-home care.
The program ensures that children entering or re-entering statutory care, including kinship, foster and residential placements, receive timely health screening, comprehensive assessments and tailored management plans to support their long-term wellbeing.
Gateway Health has already begun working with local providers, child protection and community services to establish the strong connections needed for the program’s success. A new child-friendly, play-focused clinic space is also being developed, providing a safe and supportive environment where children can engage with Gateway’s multi-disciplinary team.
“The Pathway to Good Health program will help ensure children in care do not fall through the cracks. It is an important step in providing the consistent, wrap-around health care that every child deserves.”
— Trent Dean, CEO, Gateway Health
