Having a Baby

A user-friendly Pregnancy Journey Map has been developed to provide local service information for women planning on giving birth in Wangaratta and Wodonga. These services include the Community Midwife Program (CMP) and the Antenatal Clinic/Shared Care options. Additional information is provided about what to expect when receiving care during pregnancy. These maps were developed in partnership with North East Health Wangaratta, Albury Wodonga Health, Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service and Mungabareena Aboriginal Corporation.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is a journey of different feelings and will be different for each mother and baby. This understanding will help breastfeeding be worthwhile for you and your baby. Changes will happen to you and your baby at differing times. This map will help with what you can expect along the way. The most important thing to remember is to listen to your baby’s needs.

Breastfeeding and working
Select here to download the Breastfeeding at work handbook. The handbook was developed to help employers and senior management to create a supportive environment for all families returning to work after having a baby.

Family friendly checklist
The purpose of this checklist is that it can be used by businesses to identify potential barriers for families coming into their venue. The aim isn’t to ‘pass or fail’ but to prompt businesses to consider some of the factors that families take into consideration when choosing a venue to eat or shop.  Select here to view the Family friendly checklist.
