Evidence shows that behaviour doesn’t necessarily determine a person’s body weight and body weight doesn’t always reflect health. Yet\, many believe weight loss is key to better health and disease prevention and that higher body weight equates to poorer health. \nThis pervasive weight stigma creates barriers to health-supporting behaviors\, like nourishing eating and regular movement. \nThis seminar aims to break down these barriers by promoting a size-inclusive approach to health. \nWe invite health professionals\, educators\, and community leaders to learn how to create environments that support people of all shapes and sizes in optimising their health and well-being. \nWhat to expect \n\nUnderstand how assumptions about body size and health influence our practices.\nLearn why the evidence promoting smaller bodies over larger ones isn’t as definitive as claimed.\nDiscover the growing interest in size-inclusive approaches and how to implement them.\n\nKeynote speaker \nDr Fiona Willer\, AdvAPD\, FHEA\, GAICD\, PhD\, is on a mission to empower health professionals to adopt weight-neutral practices.
